Biography

Rodney N. Sullivan, CFA is head of publications and editor of the Financial Analysts Journal at CFA Institute.

 

Currently, he is chiefly responsible for the editorial and strategic direction for a suite of publications directed towards investment professionals.  He has served as editor on several books for investment professionals and has written articles published in various scholarly journals, magazines and newspapers. He also regularly speaks before industry groups on a variety of investment management topics. Rodney is a member of the CFA Institute Investment Committee with oversight responsibility for the organization's investments.

 

Previously, Mr. Sullivan, filled a key leadership role as director of research and portfolio manager in the Investment Division of Trigon Healthcare, Inc. (now Anthem Insurance, Inc.).  Here, he oversaw portfolio strategy and execution that included asset allocation, risk analytics, and equity and fixed-income portfolio management. As a senior portfolio analyst for Aris Corporation, Rodney oversaw manager selection and directed quantitative portfolio strategy including dynamic asset allocation and tax efficient concentrated wealth.

 

Mr. Sullivan is a member of the Board of Directors at the Institute for Quantitative Research in Finance and a member of the Board of Advisors at Veritat Advisors.  He is a member of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance and a past president of the Richmond Association for Business Economics.

 

Mr. Sullivan is an alumnus of Virginia Commonwealth University, holding both a BS and an MA in economics, and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.  He has served as an adjunct faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University and Randolph Macon College.
